Description
appearance
The Kia EV6 follows the brand’s new design philosophy of “Opposites United”, which aims to draw inspiration from the contrast between nature and humanity. The new design concept is centered on a new visual image that awakens the power of enterprise and the energy of nature, contrasting the harsh stylistic elements with the sculptural shapes.
On the front of the vehicle, Kia’s iconic “Tiger Face” design has been reimagined for the digital age. As part of the “Digital Tiger Face”, the daytime running lights present a stylish and modern appearance style, and have the dynamic transformation mode of the “water light”.
The Dynamic Welcoming light (DWL) function turns on the Front and rear light sets when the vehicle is unlocked, while the Kia EV6 is equipped with the Intelligent front-Lighting System (IFS), which works in conjunction with the camera system to identify oncoming vehicles and their position. And turn off the corresponding LED light source.
The side profile of the Kia EV6 shows a crossover inspired design aesthetic that is both modern and aerodynamic. A line that runs along the bottom of the door curves up toward the rear wheel arch, visually lengthening the outline of the vehicle. The rear also features a angled C-pillar with bright black trim, visually enlarging the window area, while a tail wing extending out of the roof directs airflow down to a rear spoiler raised above the distinctive taillights.
trim
The Kia EV6 features a seamless high-tech curved infotainment screen with a wide screen and a clean design language for the dashboard. Slim, lightweight and stylish, comfortable seats are made from a modern and visually interesting durable fabric made from recycled plastic, equivalent to 111 plastic water bottles.
Space
The interior design of the Kia EV6 benefits from the E-GMP, Kia’s dedicated platform for electric vehicles. Despite its relatively compact form factor, the EV6 is comparable to many midsize SUVs with the spacious space it offers with a long 2,900mm wheelbase. The EV6 has a smart and flexible interior design and a variety of storage Spaces, including up to 520 liters (VDA) of trunk space. When the second row of seats is folded down, its load space can be expanded to about 1,300 liters in an instant. At the same time, the EV6 also has a front luggage compartment, which has up to 52 liters of storage space in the two-wheel drive version and 20 liters in the all-wheel drive version.
power
The Kia EV6 offers consumers a variety of all-electric, zero-emission powertrain options, including a long-life version with a 77.4-kwh battery pack and a standard version with a 58kWh battery pack. The EV6 GT-LINE model will be available in both long-life and standard life versions, and the EV6 GT model will only be available in the long-life battery pack configuration. The EV6 is Kia’s first electric model to offer both a two-drive version (2WD) and an all-wheel drive version (AWD).
The EV6 long-life two-drive version (2WD) with a 77.4-kwh battery pack has a range of 600km on a single charge (NEDC standard). The EV6 long-life all-wheel drive (AWD) model offers a maximum torque output of 605Nm and a 100km acceleration of 5.2 seconds. For the EV6 long-range model, the two-drive version (2WD) has a single rear-drive motor with a maximum power of 168kW (229ps), while the all-wheel drive version (AWD) has front and rear dual drive motors with a maximum power output of 239kW (325ps).
The EV6 standard range version is equipped with a 58kWh battery pack, and the all-wheel-drive version provides 605Nm torque output and a 100km acceleration time of 6.2 seconds. The standard range two-drive version has a 125kW rear drive motor, while the all-wheel drive version has a front and rear dual drive motor, with a maximum power of 173kW.
disposition
The Kia EV6 features a high-tech infotainment system with twin 12-inch screens. The EV6’s curved screen is covered with a thin film panel with a new structure and advanced technology, which reduces the impact of light reflection. Under the reinforced glass cladding, the dashboard and infotainment system appear to be one. The dashboard extends from the steering wheel to the middle of the car, displaying full digital information to the driver, while the infotainment system is located above the center console.
The EV6 uses augmented reality head-up display technology (AR HUD) to project driving information onto the windshield in the driver’s line of sight, and displays advanced driver assistance system warnings, speed details, and line-by-line navigation information. The latest version of Kia’s innovative automotive connectivity system, Kia Connect, which was previously known as UVO, is used in the EV6 with Kia’s real-time services and online OTA upgrades. Users can access the “Kia Connect” function through the touch screen to find the location and charging price of electric vehicle charging stations, check the charging status of the vehicle, plan a smart charging schedule, and know the range radius that can be driven according to the remaining power.
The EV6 also features Meridian® surround sound with 14 speakers, a 14-speaker sound system designed and built by Meridian experts with a number of digital signal processing (DSP) patents from UK audio pioneers. Meridian’s core sound concepts have been incorporated into the EV6, allowing users to enjoy natural high-fidelity listening while on the move. The system also incorporates Kia’s newly developed Active Sound Design (ASD) function, which provides sound feedback to the driver based on the speed of the vehicle, and can be controlled and adjusted through the user interface.
